Suede and nubuck are leathers with open pores, with longer or shorter fibers, polished with a more or less velvety appearance. The advantage of such leathers is that they are pleasant to the touch and have a beautiful texture. The disadvantage is sensitivity.

This type of leather becomes shiny and greasy over time, stains very easily and fades quickly. Careful use, periodic cleaning and care are important for this leather to keep its beauty and suppleness for a long period of time.

Application:

In the case of daily cleaning, it is sufficient to remove the dust with a sponge or a dry cloth or a brush with soft bristles. If these types of leather are new, but require special care against heat or sunlight, we recommend Aniline Protector Spray.
Aniline Protector Spray from this leather care set maintains the leather and protects it against drying and discoloration. If there is a risk of staining, the leather must be treated after care with Waterproofing for Leather & Textile Aerosol.

TIP: Such leathers remain sensitive even after proper maintenance. Therefore, the best protection is to use with great care.

In the case of fresh stains, absorb them with a dry cloth, but without rubbing so as not to damage the fibers. The remaining stains can be additionally cleaned with a slightly moistened microfiber. But not too wet to avoid the formation of edges and do not rub too hard.
Dry the darkened area as a result of wetting, with a hair dryer using the hot air option, so that no edges are formed. Then lighten up all the areas that remained closed with the Leather Sanding Pad. Worn, slightly greasy areas can be sanded with the Leather Sanding Pad Colourlock.

Always test the cleaning method first on a hidden area! For difficult stains, it is always better to contact a specialist in the field first. With an inappropriate method, the problem will get worse. In the case of older stains or glossy surfaces, leathers in this category must be cleaned and cared for with Nubuck & Suede Care Set. The set includes a sandpaper and an eraser that can be used to clean and restore the texture of the fibers. The leather will acquire a uniform and velvety appearance.
